Offered here is Jerry Garcia’s 1961 Harmony Stratotone Jupiter Guitar. Originally coming from Garcia’s neighbor and friend Gary Levin. Per Levin, “I was neighbors with Jerry Garcia next to the corner of Ashbury and Masonic in San Francisco. I became friends with Jerry and even jammed with him on several occasions. I received this 1961 Harmony Stratotone Jupiter Guitar from Jerry Garcia in exchange for my Favilla acoustic guitar. Jerry had never seen a Favilla before, but he intrigued me with the Harmony, as he told me he had gotten it from the Yardbirds engagement at the Fillmore (San Fran). So, I agreed to trade my guitar for Jerry’s Stratotone Jupiter. I received the guitar in August of 1967 and if my memory serves me well, the Yardbirds had met the Dead in July ‘67 at the Fillmore. I guarantee this to be an authentic Jerry Garcia guitar.” The guitar shows wear and is worth around $3,500 just as an instrument. The guitar was also played by The Yardbirds during the July 1967 Fillmore concerts. A must-have for any Garcia fan. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Gary Levin and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
