Janis Joplin's owned and worn ribbed purple pants and multi-colored, striped silky sleeveless top with buttons up the back. Joplin gifted the outfit to famed booking and promotional manager Irwin Pate, who worked with Janis Joplin, and is perhaps best known for his work and close friendship with James Brown from the late 1960's until the early 1980's. Overall very good condition. The outfit comes with a letter of provenance from Irwin Pate's widow on "James Brown Productions" letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
