Among the more interesting items that we have seen signed by baseball’s historic icon Jackie Robinson is this safari style helmet commonly referred to as a pith helmet. This unique artifact is pencil signed on the brim by Jackie Robinson, his Brooklyn Dodgers teammate Ralph Branca and golfing legends Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. It would seem natural to assume that this was signed during a shared golf outing. Robinson made history becoming the first African American to play baseball in the major leagues when he signed a contract to play with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Robinson garnered "Rookie of the Year" honors that year and helped the Dodgers win six National League Pennants and a World Championship during his illustrious career. Good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
