Former Beatle George Harrison wore this long Edwardian-style raw silk coat in the Traveling Wilburys music video for their song "Handle with Care." The coat comes from the personal collection of the stylist who personally selected it for him to wear in the video, Roger Burton. Harrison loved the coat and wore it constantly for several days, and was especially pleased that it had once been worn by the actor Jeff Chandler. Harrison asked to buy it, and because the jacket was in poor condition before Harrison even wore it, the costume company, Western Costume in Los Angeles, agreed to sell it. While Harrison was wearing it his guitar strap was badly wearing away the top of the left sleeve, and Burton was concerned it wouldn't last much more wearing, so he took it back and made a copy for Harrison. Burton ended up keeping the original, which Harrison wore in the video. The jacket, in significant worn condition with fraying, is still wearable and is a beautiful cream color with a one-button closure. Accompanied by photos of George Harrison wearing the jacket, a letter of provenance from Roger Burton and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
