George Harrison's personally owned and played sitar ukulele. Harrison purchased this Indian instrument during his final pilgrimage to Sri Krishna in April 1996. Harrison was riding in a rickshaw through the Loi Market in Vrendavana U.P. with a devotee Sri Vas Das when he spotted the instrument in a small, dusty music shop next to the Ikson temple in the Raman Reti district. Harrison quickly asked the driver to stop and he purchased the instrument which he playfully referred to as his "ukulele sitar". After returning to England, Harrison eventually gifted the sitar to Sri Vas Das. The sitar was subsequently relocated to California under the care of Neil Kanoff in 2020 and then purchased by Philip Winfield. In very good condition. Harrison is pictured here playing a sitar, and a picture of Sri Vas Das is also shown. The sitar comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Sri Vas Das and a letter of authenticity from Philip Winfield. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
