Elvis Presley's personally owned copy of the book "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran with his handwritten notes and underscored passages on the pages in ballpoint ink. Approximately 12 pages have handwriting or underscoring, including the inside of the front cover. Elvis gave this book to Ed Parker, President of the International Kenpo Karate Association who was Elvis' Karate teacher off and on for many years, and long-time close friend, who also serves as his bodyguard on his national tours. Elvis was very spiritual and a voracious reader, he often kept books such as this one with him on tour which he would read and write down his notes on the pages and underline passages that were important to him. "The Prophet" was one of Elvis' favorite books and he would give copies of it to his close friends. He gave this copy at the end of one of his tours at which Ed Parker was accompanying him. In very good condition, the book is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Ed Parker on his Kenpo Karate Association letterhead and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
