A fax sent by Rick Allen to friend Judy Bray. What makes this fax so special is it's the first time Rick Allen ever drew his signature one arm self-portrait. Rick Allen would be famous for his beautiful drawings for years to come. He kept this drawing as part of his autograph. From the collection of Miriam Barendsen. Partial proceeds from the sale of this lot will be donated to the Baladi Foundation, an animal rescue organization that works with and supports animal rescuers in Egypt to save homeless cats and dogs who are abused or are in need of immediate help on the streets. The foundation was co-founded by Miriam Barendsen, Rick Allen's girlfriend throughout the 1980's, who was in the car with Rick when the tragic accident occurred resulting in the amputation of his arm. The funds raised by the Baladi Foundation are used in many ways to help the vulnerable Baladi animals in Egypt including: Purchasing of food, providing financial support for on-the-ground organizations and other volunteers, sterilization (spaying and neutering), veterinary care, adoption and fostering, awareness campaigns, field operations, animal ambulance service, relocation of animals to countries outside of Egypt.
