A 1977 Greco guitar owned and played by Brian May in 1977. May was gifted two guitars from Greco, the guitars were an homage to May's Red Special. May played both guitars and used one of the guitars on a live TV appearance in mid-1977 for a show called "Tops of the Pops" - an image of him playing the guitar on the show is shown here. He intended to give the other guitar back to Greco, along with a note of thanks from him, but they never collected it. The guitar has a plaque on the back reading "Brian May...To Greco...1977". The uncollected guitar was subsequently obtained by Jackie Gunn who was secretary of the Queen fan club. The guitar was purhased by James Harris in 1979 from Gunn and comes with a letter of provenance from Harris stating the complete history of the guitar, connecting the guitar to Brian May and Queen Fan Club secretary Jacky Gunn. The guitar is in excellent condition and plays well. Accompanied by a Greco guitar case. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
