Baseball legend Babe Ruth boldly and beautifully signed this autograph book page in black fountain pen. The page measures 4.5 x 5.5 and has two additional signatures on it, John Lindell of the New York Yankees and Bill Trotter from the Washington Senators. This autograph book belonged to a 13 year-old fan who lived in the Bronx and attended many games during the summers of 1942 and 1943. He obtained Babe Ruth's signature on the historic day he hit his last over-the -fence homerun on August 22, 1942 when the NY Yankees played the Washington Senators in a special exhibition game to benefit the Wartime Relief Agency. That day the Babe hit against another legend, Walter Johnson and the game received tremendous newspaper coverage at the time for the two baseball greats facing off against one another at Yankee Stadium. There are pages of additional baseball player signatures from games that this young fan attended those two summers including: Frank Crosetti, Bill Dickey, Earle Combs, Lefty Gomez, Red Rolfe, Phil Rizzuto, Stan Musial, Joe Haynes, Skeeter Weiss, Mike Tresh, John Humphries, Tom Henrich, Buddy Hassett, Jerry Priddy, Whit Wyatt, Jimmy Brown, Mort Cooper, Bobby Johnson, and more. Approximately 19 pages of signatures, all in very good condition. Not all of the pages are pictured here. The Babe Ruth signature is in excellent condition. The book measures 6 x 4.5 and is intact. The back and front covers are in fair/good condition. Comes with a handwritten list of all the signatures contained in the book and the dates they were obtained, with their respective teams. Also comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll™ Certificate of Authenticity.
