A Rawlings Herb Score professional model XPG3 fielders’ glove which was worn by Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax circa 1961. The glove displays substantial use with even wear in the pocket, face of the web and throughout the body of the glove. The fingers are highlighted with neutral welting. Koufax’s number “32” appears in fading period marker on the back of the glove at the base of the web and “Koo-Foo”, Koufax’s nickname is on the back of the pinky. The glove comes from one of Koufax’s teammates, Duke Snider. The original owner of the glove played minor league baseball and had many connections, including being friendly with the Dodgers. He was a tall lefty pitcher like Koufax, so Duke Snider gave him one of Koufax’s gloves. In 1961, Koufax won 18 games and triggered one of the most exciting five-season performances ever seen on a mound. This glove was used at the beginning of this stretch and is truly a piece of Baseball history. In our opinion, we have photo-matched the glove to the 1961 season, with identical creases, laces and wear which can be seen on this glove and pictures from that season. Comes with a Letter of Provenance, a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
