Presented is a 1940 Babe Ruth signed personal check dated June 18, 1940 and made out to cash for the amount of $50.00. The Hall of Fame New York Yankees slugger signed his name “G.H. Ruth” (for George Herman Ruth) in blue fountain pen in the lower right of the 3 x 8-inch gray paper check from New York’s Chemical Bank & Trust Company. The check is from Ruth’s personal account and is printed “Babe Ruth” vertically in black on the left margin. Ruth inscribed the date, “June. 18 (19) 40” in black fountain pen in the upper right of the check made payable to “Cash” in the amount of “50 00/100 Fifty 00/00” dollars. The check has register marks in the center from processing. Very good condition. Comes with a James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity and a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity.
